Free Printable Leprechaun Letter to Child
This free printable leprechaun letter is a fun way to make your St. Patrick’s Day magical–even if you don’t catch a leprechaun!
St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect time for a little bit of magic and mischief. We’re new to building leprechaun traps, but I think my son is going to insist on this being a new tradition! We had so much fun turning shiny green paper, pipe cleaners, and a leprechaun hat from the dollar store into a fun trap to catch leprechauns.
Leprechaun traps are a great way to inspire creativity and work on fine motor skills. If your kids are anything like mine, they’ll be talking all month long about the best ways to catch a leprechaun and what they’ll do once he is caught (folklore says leprechauns have to give you their pot of gold or grant wishes in exchange for their freedom–um, yes to both, please).
Set your trap out the night before St. Patrick’s Day. When you check the next morning, you’ll most likely find that your sneaky little leprechaun has escaped (as mom highly suspected he would 😉). But, he might leave behind a special note and a surprise instead (hint: this is where you come in, parents).
To make your life a little simpler, I’ve designed the perfect free printable leprechaun letter for you to use when your child’s trap inevitably doesn’t catch the elusive leprechaun.
This is a great addition to your St. Patrick’s Day celebration and the perfect way to make your kids feel like their trap was almost successful. Those little leprechauns might be too sneaky for even the best traps, but this surprise note will hopefully motivate your kids to try again next year.
And the best part? This fun letter is totally free and can be instantly downloaded–I don’t even ask you for any information (you’re welcome). Get the free printable letter below!

What are leprechaun traps?
Leprechaun traps are a fun St. Patrick’s Day craft project, usually made by kids, to try and catch a leprechaun, the tiny magical men from Irish folklore.
There are so many different ways to make your own leprechaun trap–our DIY leprechaun trap uses free gold coins and printable leprechaun trap signs to lure the sneaky leprechauns in. Even if you don’t catch a leprechaun, it’s a fun activity for kids of all ages to use their creativity and imagination.
Sometimes, if you’re lucky, the leprechaun will even leave behind a surprise, like some chocolate gold coins and–you guessed it–this free leprechaun letter. A leprechaun letter is a simple way to keep the leprechaun magic alive, whether your trap worked or not.
