Whether you’re decorating worksheets, designing flyers, or spicing up lesson plans, these Halloween clipart frames are an easy way to add the perfect amount of spooky charm.

Free printable Halloween borders

These Halloween border templates include a wide variety of Halloween images, including jack o’lanterns, a black cat, spider webs, cute ghosts, bats, and skeletons. You’ll find lots of orange and black colors, as well as purple and pink (orange and pink is one of my favorite Halloween color combinations–sorry, not sorry!). A lot of the borders are wide frames with festive designs; others have just a top border decoration. The last border paper includes lines, perfect for making lists and writing letters. (If you want lines on any of the other designs, leave a comment at the bottom and I might be persuaded to add them to this post when I get a free minute.)

These free printable Halloween borders are great for printing Halloween party invitations or neighborhood flyers. You can also use these Halloween papers to create your own stationery or fun backgrounds for kids’ coloring pages. If you’re in need of a Halloween candy bowl sign (to let neighborhood kids know how many pieces they can take when trick-or-treating at your house), these colourful borders also make the perfect template for that.

Though these files are only for personal use, I do allow teachers to use them. So, elementary, middle school, high school–have at it! These themed frames add the perfect spooky touch to classroom newsletters, decorations for bulletin boards, binder covers, and any other Halloween classroom materials.

How to use these free Halloween page borders

Each Halloween border is available as its own PDF file, so all you have to do is click the image of the design you like and the file will open in a new window, ready to download or print. No zip file or complicated downloads! I don’t even ask you for your email address before offering freebies–you’re welcome!

To download the file and save to your computer for future use, click the download button at the top of the tab that opens containing the file (the image of an arrow pointing down). The download will most likely go into your downloads folder on your computer and you can access it from there or move to another location. Or, if you just want to print the file from the browser tab that opens, click the printer icon.

If you want to customize the digital papers before printing, you’re in luck! You can open the pre-designed templates in a program like Adobe Acrobat to add text or tweak it for your needs. If that sounds a little too complicated (no worries!) or you’re using another program like Microsoft Word, you can also pre-print the border decorations you want to use, then run the paper through your printer again to print your document onto it. Super easy!

These printable page borders are designed for standard 8.5″ x 11″ paper size (US letter size). I’m sure you can print on other size paper, but I haven’t tried it so use your printer dialog settings to size it correctly and do a test print first. (Using system dialog should give you a preview of the print image, too.)

For best results, print the color images on white printer paper or cardstock–a high quality color printer is ideal for this. If you don’t want to print in color or would like to use colored paper instead, there are multiple black and white images as well! With all borders, be sure to select borderless printing so the designed border prints all the way to the edge. You can also send the files to a professional print shop if you need high quality prints.
